CURRICULUM

The Department of Japanese aims to foster students to accurately understand
and transmit the Japanese language and culture. The department actively
accepts overseas students interested in Japan and sends its own students
abroad. Taking advantage of the semester system and a flexible curriculum
that reduces drawbacks from studying abroad, the department supports
students’international exchange activities. In addition, the introduction of
the course system enables students aiming to be Japanese-language teachers or
interpreters or to be active internationally (drawing on their expertise in the
Japanese language and culture) to receive an education and training tailored
appropriately to their needs.

CURRICULUM

The primary objective of the Department of English is to help students develop
a high level of practical communication skills in English. This situational
approach to English distinguishes our department from other universities’
English-related departments, which specialize in the theoretical knowledge
of English. Therefore, this department offers a highly practical set of courses,
such as Advanced Writing Skills and Advanced Reading Skills, that are designed
to help students gain a well-rounded education in reading, writing,
speaking, and listening. To facilitate the learning process, these classes are
taught by native speakers in small class settings.

will continue to play an important part in the global economy. As globalization
proceeds apace, the relationship between the two nations will become
more important. With this situation in mind, the Department of Chinese offers
highly concentrated classes taught by native speakers to allow students to
master practical Chinese-language skills and gain a thorough understanding
of Chinese culture and society—both vital for effective and harmonious communication and understanding.

The Department of Economics has conventionally emphasized internationaland
information-related subjects. In addition to this, it focuses on practical
subjects that can be utilized in the real world and subjects that reinforce a
global-scale social perspective. Numerous bookkeeping- and accounting-related
subjects give our curriculum a highly practical orientation. The department
equips students with broad-based knowledge covering local and international
societies that forms the basics of social studies and economics and
advanced abilities in such fields as public policy, finance, management, and
accounting with the goal of training students to be vigorous businesspeople
who can contribute to the global society.

In today’s world, where study with practical application is increasingly important,
the Department of Real Estate Sciences offers three courses designed to
deepen specialized knowledge in the fields of real estate sciences.
The Business Course covers everything from the fundamentals of
real estate sciences to business practice.
The Finance Course prepares students for certificate
examinations in real estate appraisal and the field of finance. In the Design
Course, students learn about real estate development, architecture, and interior design.
Through these fulfilling courses, the department cultivates future
real estate experts.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum of this department is divided into five fields: communication,
international community culture, hospitality and tourism, management,
and case studies. To provide students with the broad knowledge and skills
required in the hospitality industry and respond to students’ diverse needs, a
unique set of subjects with distinctive contents has been prepared. These subjects focus on developing communication ability, particularly in English; fostering a hospitality mind; and deepening specialized knowledge of ospitality
tourism.

Faculty of Dentistry

CURRICULUM

To foster future dental professionals who are sensitive yet global, the department has systematically connected its general education and specialized
subjects to its six-year program. In the first two years, students register for the courses in the liberal arts, which focuses on the student’s character formation, along with clinical and basic laboratory training.
In the following two years, students take classes focusing on dentistry and medical knowledge.
Various medical subjects relating to dentistry are prepared at this stage, and
students can acquire wide-ranging medical knowledge. Additionally, they
can learn the importance of gaining hands-on expertise through practical
subjects. From the second semester in the fifth year, students receive practical training for approximately one year at our affiliated hospital. Experience in an actual medical setting in 13 clinical areas, attendance at consultations,
and practical training in a hospital environment meet the requirements to become a dental professional of the new era.
