Meikai University is officially accredited / recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture,Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.

Meikai University is accredited by the Japan Institution for Higher Education Evaluation (JIHEE) and its accreditation was recently reaffirmed in 2012. This certification is effective for seven years till 2019.

GENERATING NEXT-GENERATION LEADERS IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM

Business Leaders in the Hospitality and Tourism industries are required to not only acquire knowledge of the sector but also develop skills to create high-impact ideas that will enable them to compete in a dynamic world from a Hospitality and global perspective. This program particularly focuses on the development of communication skills and includes literacy in international liberal studies, Leadership with management skills and knowledge based on Hospitality and Tourism studies, and "Hospitality-Mind.”

2.Admission policy

GMM’s Admissions Policy
1) An intention to develop critical thinking and problem identification skills based on fundamental literacies and competencies required of Global Leaders in various social fields with a focus on the Hospitality and Tourism Industries as follows:
・Hospitality Mind ・ High level abilities in communication
・An accumulation of experiences in an international context
2) A desire to contribute as a Leader in various Social Fields where Hospitality Mind, multi-language and multi-cultural diversity and inclusion are essential.
3) Holding a Basic English proficiency (as reflected by a minimum CEFR B1 level) and a strong willingness to study towards improving and applying such ability after admission.

3.Diploma policy

Based on knowledge of hospitality and tourism studies, Meikai University Global Management Major (GMM) aims to educate individuals to contribute to global business with hospitality-mind, leadership and global-perspectives. The university grants a Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management diploma to those who have attained the following abilities by completing academic requirements.

1. Ability to become a leader in the domestic and/or global fields requiring advanced communication skills, with extensive knowledge of management.
2. Ability to learn and improve continuously in both Japanese and English (TOEFL iBT 80+) and to use those languages to communicate with people from around the world based on their own experiences of studying overseas.
3. Ability to lead the change of organization or society by encouraging stakeholders with leadership based on hospitality-mind.
